Highbridge Roadshow: A first look at the Sunlight IBEX 604D

We’re delighted to announce that the Sunlight IBEX 604D is coming to our Somerset branch for a special Roadshow event on Saturday 3rd October, from 10am–4pm.

The event marks an exciting new chapter for Highbridge as an official Sunlight dealership and gives visitors the opportunity to see one of the brand’s new adventure-focused campervans up close. At just 5.99 metres long and sitting within the accessible 3,500 kg gross weight class (standard driver's licence friendly), the Sunlight IBEX 604D packs serious expedition capability into a compact footprint. While built to take on rugged routes, it retains complete urban and campsite versatility.

• Base Vehicle: Volkswagen Crafter powered by a 2.0-litre TDI 163 hp engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

• Raised Roof & Living Space: Specially developed high roof providing 1.98 metres of standing headroom indoors.

• Kitchen & Refreshment: An 84-litre pull-out compressor fridge cleverly designed for dual-sided access (from inside or directly from the outside through the sliding door).
• Bathroom Facilities: A compact washroom with a toilet, shower, and space-saving foldable washbasin.
• Self-Sufficiency Systems: Integrated roof-mounted solar power paired with a diesel and electric dual-heating system for flexible, year-round off-grid touring.

The IBEX 604D's self-sufficiency isn't just theoretical. During real-world testing across Scandinavia, the vehicle navigated over four weeks through Sweden, Norway, and Denmark—handling unpaved gravel tracks and tough weather conditions alike. The team remained fully autonomous throughout the month-long trek without needing shore power connections, proving its readiness for true off-grid adventure.
